Emma Chapman joined CavFutures in October 2023 following her completion of a Master’s
degree at the University of Virginia. She planned on moving back to her home state of
Massachusetts after graduating as a double-hoo, but deferred those plans after she felt
inspired by the challenge of a startup.
Emma grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, where she developed her love for Boston’s
sports teams. She participated in and watched many sports growing up, and found them to
be her favorite community-building activity. As an undergraduate, she studied history and
economics at the University of Virginia, and returned to UVA to complete her M.S. in Finance
at the McIntire School of Commerce.
Emma’s love of sports and her alma mater led her to take a position at CavFutures as the
Director of Operations. Over the past two years, she has been focused on organizing the
business and making it scalable. With the shift post-House Settlement, Emma has shifted
into a more internal and University-facing position, while still assisting with traditional brand
partnerships. She spends her free time with friends and family at UVA games, the farmer’s
market, and around Charlottesville.
